Pool Remodeling in Mesa, AZ

Your Mesa pool can work better for the way you use it today. Barefoot Pools remodels existing pools with micro-pebble resurfacing, new waterline tile, coping, decking and equipment upgrades. We can also rethink outdated features, such as converting an unused spa into a Baja shelf.

A Baja Shelf in Place of the Old Spa

An outdated spa became an opportunity to rethink how this Mesa pool could be enjoyed. Barefoot removed the spa wall, filled the former spa well and built a Baja shelf in its place—creating a shallow tanning ledge within the existing pool.

Micro-Pebble, New Tile and Renewed Steps

A full resurface with Universal White Cement micro-pebble brought the pool’s interior and new Baja shelf together. Reinforced, smoother steps with Light Wave Blue step markers completed the interior update.

New Noble NGWV 641 waterline tile with Pewter grout gave this Mesa pool a fresh, coordinated finish.

A Better Fit for the Way They Swim

Behind the finished surface, we removed the former spa plumbing, rebuilt the return manifold and installed new return fittings to support the revised layout.

The result is a purposeful Mesa remodel that changes more than the pool’s appearance: an outdated feature makes way for an inviting place to stretch out, cool off and enjoy the water.

Mesa Pool Remodeling FAQs

Planning a Mesa pool renovation? Start with answers about changing an existing pool, selecting finishes, budgeting and startup.

The price depends on the pool’s size and condition, preparation and repairs, chosen finishes and any changes to its layout or equipment. Resurfacing and replacing tile require a different scope from removing a spa and building a Baja shelf. Barefoot reviews the existing pool and your priorities before preparing a project-specific proposal.

Yes, when the existing pool’s structure and layout make the conversion appropriate. In this Mesa project, Barefoot demolished the spa wall, filled the spa well and built a shallow Baja shelf in its place. The remodel also included plumbing changes, a new micro-pebble surface and waterline tile. We assess each pool before recommending a similar change.

We plan the sequence around the work your remodel requires, from preparation and pool repairs through tile, coping, surface installation and any surrounding backyard improvements. Material availability, site conditions and the scope affect timing. We discuss the expected schedule before construction and explain the filling and startup stages, including when your pool will be ready to enjoy.

Startup is part of every new Barefoot surface. Before filling, we prebalance the source water in a dedicated tank, then follow our detailed Orenda startup standard. We explain the water care, brushing and other instructions for your new finish, and guide you through the next steps before regular pool use. That attention continues beyond selecting a beautiful surface—it is part of completing the remodel.

No. We remodel and repair existing pools. We don’t build new pools. For an existing Mesa pool, we can discuss resurfacing, tile, coping, decking, equipment upgrades and changes to features such as steps or a spa. Your project can be a focused refresh or part of a larger backyard renovation.
